Notching Machine Description

Many automatic and manual binding machines do not have a milling station. Without milling the spine of a book block results in a weak bind. PräCut is the solution for optimize the binding process of a book block. The surface of the spine is notched to enlarge the area for applying the glue. This gives the block a far better strength.

Machine for simultaneously cutting and notching of book and magazine spines prior to fan-binding. These notches improve the durability of the fan-binding considerably, especially when art paper is being used. The cutting depth is adjustable from 3 to 9 mm (0.118″ – 0.354″) which allows for cutting off staples.

One-off as well as multiple books may be processed on the
PräCut without setup time or adjusting the machine to accommodate
different formats.
